““I believe in using the entire piano as a single instrument capable of expressing every possible musical idea.” – ”
music—a high yield investment
Choosing private music lessons for your child or yourself is an investment with lifelong returns. Stress relief, hand-eye coordination, brain stimulation, improved memory, mood elevation, and aural awareness are just some of the benefits you can expect from regular music study, aside from the sheer enjoyment of learning to play a beautiful instrument. It is rare that a person regrets taking piano lessons, but “I wish I hadn’t quit” is a common refrain. Don’t worry— it’s never too late to start again!
When should my child begin piano lessons?
Watch a young child in a room with a piano. They will almost certainly walk over to it and begin to explore. This natural musical curiosity should be nurtured and encouraged as much as possible. If you are interested in private piano lessons for your child, you may be wondering what age is best to begin. In general, piano lessons can begin between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. Here are some guidelines for knowing it’s the right time to begin for younger children:
persistently expresses interest in music and/or music lessons
follows basic instructions
can remain engaged for most of a 30-minute lesson
has daily access to a full size (88 key) electric or acoustic piano
but what if I want lessons? is it really possible for me to learn as an adult?
YES! Music is for everyone and anybody can learn to play the piano and enjoy expressing themselves musically. If you had piano lessons as a child and you’re looking to pick up where you left off or if you are a brand new beginner who’s always wanted to be able to sit down and play beautiful music—private lessons are a wonderful way to invest in yourself and your personal dreams and goals.
